Cleaning around the fuel injector area

Thanks for elaborating James, I was running when I posted that.

I'm a bit concerned you've eaten and drank too many engine parts/fluids. Although..it hasn't seemed to affect ya at all :th_wtf:

I pulled one of the fuel injector plugs and look inside the male part of the plug. From what I can see, it looked like oil. What can that be? I'm real busy today, but tomorrow I will post pics of the fuel injector area of my ride.

Well, now that I look at it a little closer it does look like this. I have those crappy plastic LIM gasket on there right now. I'm going to do a LIM gasket replacement and I'm going to use the aluminum one.

This is what it looks like around my fuel injectors.

Where you see the reddish color there in the LIM duck area is where I get a little liquid.

It gets kind of moist by where the elbow is too.

dont forget the thread sealant for the lim bolts. my lim valleys were full of coolant, the one on the outside near the egr would cry when the car was all warmed up. just a tear trail from it full time.

being your a 97 you can just snap that upper elbow off and leave the alt bracket in place, then install the new one with the lim.

and de grease the engine before the lim job. who wants to work on a dirty ass engine.

Lol...you all are funny! :th_laugh-lol2: Yes, it is a real dirty ass engine. I'm going to give her a real good engine bath this weekend.

Here is what I used on a head gasket job I did. I assume this would work!

this is what most of use use, its for the threads, not the gaskets.

and watch this vid. they change lifters too, you just stop at the lim job.

i have permatex thread sealer (let it airdry for a few minutes before installing) as well as the aviation sealer (non hardening for dynamic sealing gaskets) in 16fl oz jugs with the brush lol

i kept having a hard time finding all my little bottles strewn about the garage/lent out
big juggs are easier to find and grab onto, plus who doesnt like big juggs?

Same stuff I have. I love me some big juggs.

big juggs aint cheap lol the small jugs are like 6 to 8 bucks lol and way more then you ever need to do like 50 lim jobs.
