I'm installing a clarion nx501 hu in my 04 grand prix gtp non monsoon sound have the axxess gmos-04 interface hu powers up ive got no audio from radio or chimes any guesses?

If you have the non monsoon system then you have the wrong adapter, what you should have is the GMOS-01

no and neither does the gmos-04. The reason you have no sound is the GMOS-04 uses your low level signal from the RCA outs on the HU and are intended to go thru an amplifier (Monsoon) to make that signal a high level signal to the speakers, the GMOS-01 use the speaker outputs from the HU which are already high level signals, sorry to tell you this but you bought the wrong adapter if you want steering wheel controls the you will need this also

and then have fun getting everything back into the dash, yes it all will fit

does anyone make an adapter that does it all? this is really driving me crazy i'm thinking i might just go back to stock

So you have Onstar but no Monsoon

Metra's GM radio replacement adapter lets you replace the factory radio in select OnStar-equipped 2001-up GM vehicles using the existing wiring and connectors. Even if you don't subscribe to OnStar, you'll need this adapter to connect an aftermarket stereo.
Hook the GMOS-01 to your aftermarket radio, mount the module, and plug it into the existing factory plug. Get the great sound you want, and keep all important safety features intact. And you can adjust volume settings for OnStar as well as the safety chimes. Also, once you turn off the ignition in these GM vehicles, the radio continues to play until you open the door. This interface maintains that function with your new aftermarket radio.

This was taken directly from Crutchfield, and I don't believe anybody makes an adapter that does it all, that being chimes, Onstar, and steering wheel controls so I would see if the dealer you purchased the GMOS-04 from will swap it for the GMOS-01, if not you could always sell the GMOS -04 on E-gay (for a loss of course) or something like that. GOOD LUCK to your and your endeavor.

thats only the steering interface does not help w/onstar dumbass

You asked if there was anything to keep the steering wheel interface and that's it. No need for name calling. The PAC interface works independently from the OnStar. So you need more than one adapter.

Definatly not going back to stock the nx501 is BA just need some good advice this process has been more difficult than an any install I've done there so many gadgets for these cars because of the vast variety of options available I'm not trying to cure the world just want my car to sound good

Right on. That radio does look BA i'm running a Clarion 855mp myself. I keep wanting to get a double din and make it fit.
