Clanking/clicking noise

Ok so I was getting ready to put an open cone setup on my car today and before I took it off in revved it up just for fun and when I hit about 4000 rpm and let off I heard a loud clanking/clicking noise. I can't exactly pin point where it came from but it sounded like it might have been coming from the supercharger. What do you guys think it is?
 


Not to add insult to injury, but you did "VS Cam, SS Intercooler, Powerflow catback, SSAC headers, custom intake, 180* tstat, 42.5lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, 3.29 gears, zzp pcm, all supporting mods" but left off the open cone filter... and now there is a "Click/Clank" sound and you DON'T have any idea what it could be...:th_scratchhead:
 
Well I did the whole gutted air box idea with the air duct tubing goin down to the fenderwell and finally decided to do open cone. I've got a 3.1 on there now and i took off the air box and it still made the noise. What do you think it is?
 
Hard to say, does it click or clank or anything odd at ANY time or JUST coming back from a 4k rev?

raise the hood and see if you can tell if its sounding from engine or from tranny side. A Mechanics Stethoscope comes in handy at this time point, but if you can get a long pry-bar or something that you can put to your ear to trace where its coming from would help narrow it down
 
its just when coming back from a 4-5k rev. And we tried that with a long screwdriver and we still couldnt tell where it was coming from.
