The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
There is danger with any spring compressor. The "safest" one I ever used was a wall mount one, but that being said I have used the "screw down" ones multiple times without an issue.
Ideally you want them on the diameter line but that isn't going to happen.
The mounts will be in the way but it is easy to figure out the maximum available smash spots.
If the new struts have an allen screw end use that and an offset 21 box wrench to tighten the nut.
Taking the nut off use an impact.
I bought a set 5 years ago and they have payed off in convenience.
I can't remember how many times I have used them on my car.
Grease the threads completely before use. I just use a channellocks to crank them down.
Don't be wimpy just a little careful obviously.
But really, there is nothing to worry about.
Keeping the mount and spring in position while loosening the compressors is the biggest janky challenge.
Do it once and you will be a pro.
