Choosing a catback!

I'm about ready to start modding a 2000 Grand Prix GTP.
The mains i want:

ZZP Z7 turbo kit
ST2 cam
And i like ZZP's 3" catback, well almost. From what i heard on youtube i wasn't impressed with the sound of it. I love that it's stainless,
but i just don't like the sound of the mufflers. Can you guys give some ideas what mufflers others are using? I prefer a stainless
muffler. I appreciate everyone's advice.

Factory stock ones. And keep the resonator in place as well. Other than that, maybe Borla's come to mind

Youtube search for 3800 exhaust and see what comes up. Most of the mufflers on these cars will make it sound like junk so def. do some research. After all, it's your ears that have to hear it, lol..

I emailed Tim to see if he could given any ideals what mufflers i can buy to replace the ZZP mufflers in their 3" system.
He gave some other great advice, but just said their 3" kit sounds better in person that on youtube. I told him i would like a little rasp. The ZZP has really no sound, just a loud humming tone.
If anymore of of you guys think of anything else i should do, please lay it on me. And i'm adding a Z7 kit, and the ST1 or ST2 cam, I don't to buy a ton cabacks to find the best one. I'm thinking with just going with SLP even though it's 2.5" catback because it has an aggressive enough tone. An you can hear the cam crackle out the exhaust.

if you're going turbo, just run a 3" straight pipe. the turbo will be the 'muffler'. I ran a side exit on mine old build.

edit-the exhaust note on a turbo wbody is completely different than s/c setup.

zzp and the slp both sound like crap......you could buy that mandrel bent 3 inch pipe kit and add mufflers for less.
This. Mandrel Sysytems/TruBendz stainless pipe is $270 for the dual kit. Add your own res and mufflers, ftw.

SLP is known to be loud and very anus-sounding. Also, try and view vids that are more than just the idle. Drone's a B on long trips.

Exhaust is so subjective but my personal opinion is aftermarket on these cars sound terrible and drone like crazy. My friends SLP should have come with a bottle of Tylenol and ear plugs. It doesn't sound good to me. Just annoying. I like low, deep, and mellow and you just don't really get that with these cars. I did a Dynomax factory replacement cat back with Ebay cat and I like it. It is just a little louder than stock but still pretty quiet and no drone. It is a packed muffler not chambered. If you insist on going aftermarket I would only run Borla. Their packed muffler sounds much nicer than chambered.

Mandrel Bend 3" Stainless to Vinrant Ultra Quiet Resonator (there's room for 2 if desired) to Hooker Max Flow Mufflers ending with dual stainless exhaust tips!

Thats the exhaust... Lol

if you want to stay close to stock, you can downsize to 2-1/2"...

here is an actual site that has a compilation of exhaust's.

http://wbodyexhaust.com/

and this site here sells catback exhaust kits, if you get a 3" stainless steel it is like 345, but then you need to add mufflers and a resonator.

I like that full 3" stainless exhaust tubing. I looked at the Hooker 21646HKR muffler:
Just need a nice pair of dual stainless tips. and need to make sure everything lines up.
