Chipped pistons options

Hello
I have a 2004 GTP I bought with 100+kmiles. Car ran great ,after 6 months of driving my ex said it was running like ****. Pulled the plugs and had smashed plugs. Long story short I have the motor have tore down so far and 2 chipped pistons on the front bank. i believe I have at least 2 on the rear bank.

What are my options?
1.I can get a used short block (L32)from a former member here with low miles locally.
2. replace pistons with stock
3.Forged pistons
???? the car will be sold once its back together and running. I don't want to just slap it back together and say oh well to the next guy/gal. I'm not that type of person and it might get driven some before selling. Thanks in advance.

$6000 its all yours when you gonna come and get it? It's my EX WIFE's car I don't have much say in the selling price.

holy crap 6K for a car with a blown motor!?!?!?!?! LOL

Enough of the jokes though, your best bet would be to get a short block and replace it. It's the easiest and most cost effective

OK A local forum member has a 30K mile short block I can get fairly cheap. My valves are beat up from the amount of metal that was flying around. If the valves are undamaged I was just going to lap them all in. I might have a source for used pistons, still looking at that option though.

well 4 of 6 pistons are chipped outWTF Maybe I'll throw the block in the front yard and plant some ****ing flowers in it

sounds like someone run some cheap gas in it. craigs list has complete motors for around 300.00 sometimes around cols, ohio area. seen a 02 trans for 150.00 other day. car had been wrecked.

I know I accidently filled it up once with 87,but this was after the damage was already done.Ended up babying through that tank. Not sure if my ex did at all or not. Regardless it's toast, so hopefully I can pick up the low mileage short block this month. CL hasn't had sheet on it locally.

Anything else I should check, replace, inspect while putting it all back together???? Does Felpro make a complete gasket kit for these motors?

if you take the bottom end apart youre looking at a lot more work then just buying the short block.

Whos ed morad????

I guess I should have said more specially, Morad Parts Company. See the link in my Sig. It was started and is still ran by Ed Morad who is a long time GP enthusiast. He has all the used parts you will ever need for 3800 powered cars.

yeah someone else gave me the email addy. I will say their prices are HIGH, I thought everyone around here was high but damn.
