Cheepest/free Ways To Reduce Kr?

BLACKEDOUTGTP

New member
SO i was wondering if anyone know any cheep/ free ways to elemanate KR, other then what ive done already (raise hood, remove engine cover, remove underhood heat sheld, remove rear weather stripping, colder range plugs)

Remove the 3.25 install 3.4
remove Hi Flow TB install stock
and have your car scanned then go from there

Question: is your check engine light not on ?

reason i am asking is i have a Hi Flow Cat but have not done
the rewire or installed a resister yet and just the difference there
of the air flow sets off my C E L

**********pic up a scanner***********. see what the car is doing. and then go from there. simplest way to get rid of knock. put a few gallons of race fuel in. should combat the KR........

yea my check engine light is on but thats cause my evap system is fin' up i got on o2 emulator from zzp, and nothing is showing incresed air flow, + the high flow tb decreses KR because it moves the air quicker, which means less time the air has to heat up...so why would i want to take it off?

Please read this:

I took this off a web site for you to read. 3800 Performance

The stock throttle body used on the L67 supercharged engines have a 69mm inside diameter outlet. The stock throttle body used on the Cadillac Northstar V8 engine has a 75mm inside diameter outlet. This 6mm increase in size dramatically increase throttle response and provides solid horsepower gains with customers running a 3.0” or smaller supercharger pulley, and moreso for those with an aftermarket cam or cam/heads package.

This conversion kit is made to match up perfectly to aftermarket larger-bore supercharger housings, which have 75.5mm bored inlets. But for those customers running a stock or stock-bore supercharger housings, which have 72mm inlets, we have a solution for you as well. We offer 2 different adapter plate designs: one adapter plate mates the Northstar 75mm outlet to the stock 72mm SC inlet by tapering the bore for a nice smooth airflow transition, while the second adapter plate mates the Northstar 75mm outlet to the 75.5mm aftermarket supercharger housing inlet with a straight-through bore. With both adapter plates designs, the TB is located to the adapter plate by dowels to ensure a perfect fit and centering of the TB to adapter.

The Northstar Throttle Body Conversion Kit uses a Corvette LS6 Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor that will need to be tuned in with either custom PCM work, a TechEdge ICCU, or a TechEdge Mini-AFC 2.0. You MUST have access to a diagnostic scanning tool (such as AutoTap) to monitor your front O2 sensor and LTFT (Long Term Fuel Trim) parameters so that you can adjust the fuel settings for your car. Not doing so could have an adverse affect on your engine and other components.
You still have stock fuel injectors,
stock maiflods
3.25 pully
and no Larger Maf
Not tuned for these mods you have.

The PCM you have is tuned for a 3.4 setup only
and even still should be scanned to be sure all is ok...

Hope this helps.

the throttle body is also bored out to 72 so it is larger, and i do have colder range plugs, and 3inch dp + 3in pipeing all the way back so that helps my exhaust flow, + trottle body insulator which under my own test droped the running temp of the tb by 35 drgrees so that helps with the kr too, heavily wrapped crossover to reduce intake temp, the pcm adjusts timing under wot which also reduces KR, and the removal of engine cover, underhood heat sheld and weather stripping which vents the engine compartment increadibly, + the alki water injection which will be tuned will surly remove any reamaing knock. BUT i would love to still scan it..

1. scan
2. take that 3.25 pulley off and go to a 3.4
3. scan again to see reduced kr
4. find someone that can tune your car

Remove supercharger belt :D

But really

180t Stats are pretty cheap
Maybe get some exhaust wrap and wrap the crossover

Those might help out a little bit

scan. each car reacts differently to mods. his car may be fine/ or may not.

scan, then let us know if you have KR or not.....

everyone is tell you to get the the 3.4 pulley back on there and scan from there.....these guys really know there stuff, so that is what I would do first.....we would hate to see you damage your engine!!!

I would say if you didn't have the VE tune then maf tune that you can have alot of false knock, however till it gets sorted out like everybody suggested: bigger pulley.
