Checking kr

I don't care that the program tells you it's reading at XX . I've tested them and SEEN the blips of kr that the TQ app didn't show. I've also seen the blips of kr the AeroForce doesn't show with my tuner.
 


Obviously I can't check for anything missed like you can with your tuning software, but I can compare the RPM, vacuum, MAF, etc. and they are all instantaneous. I chose the hardwired route because it's the fastest I've been able to achieve (and I notice a difference). At minimum the cheap OBD 2 adapters are just as fast as an Aeroforce. I'm a fan of Scantool.net's hardware, only for their support and quality. I had a cheap BT OBD 2 adapter @ $13, and truthfully I didn't notice a difference between it and the $100 OBDlink LX..short of the connect button and slightly smaller size.

So I guess I should rephrase, these adapters provide the data as fast as the PCM provides it, which may or may not be as fast as it reads the sensors themselves.
 
Well I have seen a difference in the numbers provided. A Bluetooth connection( IE Torque) won't read the info as fast as a wired connection.

All I can say is that I have seen the differences and I can tell you that the Bluetooth apps don't refresh/show changes as fast as the AeroForce. And the AeroForce doesn't show changes as fast as a tuner.
 
How long ago was this? A few months ago when I first had installed my Android head unit I was having problems with data corruption via USB. It turns out Ian had outdated drivers for both USB and BT, and once he updated them everything was a LOT faster. As far as the Wifi adapters, I have no idea on their speeds, never had one or tried one.
 
This was a few months ago testing the Bluetooth vs AeroForce. And the tuner vs AeroForce I test regularly.
 
Just making sure, but you had "Faster Communication" enabled in Torque Pro, right? I wanna say the newer drivers were in 1.8.28 or something along those lines.
 


I will after I start logging. I've been meaning to figure it out in Torque Pro for some other problems, so this is just another reason.
 
The only problem with the ELM OBDII Bluetooth reader is the fact that as mentioned it will scan the PCM and transmit that info to your phone only so many times, and so many sensors per second. People will load way too many... But (keep it simple stupid) is a good rule. Set up only one screen and only the info you're looking for. It's a great app Torque as it will allow you to record as well. For a basic read to see what's going on, it's good stuff, I've used it from when it first came out and have no problems trusting it. Nuff said on that...

As for the choice of 2 out of 3, I meant the OP is having an issue deciding to worry about cost when modding, and those how've done engine work, mod's in order to gain whatever it is they're looking for know the golden rule, you've gotta PAY to play. Wasn't specific to any one mod. As such the OP should accept that this platform is already cheap enough as it is and be seriously prepared to spend some $ though on good stuff... Lolz, or prepare otherwise to always fixing crap.
