agreed my buddy just got a 3800 ls imapla 2001 he said he wants to race me and he knows he will win... its a ex cop car he says but i dont believe him. i can win right?

You should be able to beat him (if hes stock), i saw some of the ex cop impalas have the 3.1 in it.
 


Wow....it does make you re think the GTP lol, that gtp was ugly....im not getting lambo doors anymore. lol :)

He's lying somewhere. If its a Impala LS, it's not a cop car. Unless a precinct special ordered it, but it's just the same as a civy version. L36 with 3.05 gears.

If it truly is a cop car, then it's a 9C1. Still an L36, but now with 3.29 gears. Either way he'd probably beat you off the line but you'd take him. I know this from experience racing L67s when my car was stock. These days... :th_lipssealed2:

3.1L was never available in the Impala. The 3.4L was, but not in police versions. Again, it could be a regular base model Impala that a precinct used anyway. It's not unheard of.
 


some kid around the corner from me bought a 9c1, it had the HD tranny, oil cooler, tranny cooler, HD sway bars....nothing crazy, its still a L36 car, they're dogs. put a 3.5 pulley on your car or mod it, stop spending money on useless rotors and paints. get a downpipe and drop a pulley, get some spark plugs and a tstat, your car will thank you
 
qwik im in the works of gettin some more exhaust work and a smaller pulley with a colder t-stat and then some other crap. yes my buddys car has a oil and tranny intercoolers mounted on the core support and it has rubber floors??
