Check Gas Cap Message

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and have just recently purchased an '07 Grand Prix. Recently I started to get the "Check Gas Cap" message so I purchased a new gas cap, but I'm still gettng the same message. I also pulled the codes and found P0455 (Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak).

What else could toss out the "Check Gas Cap" message? I've tried searching the forums, but gas and cap are not allowed since they are both less than 3 characters in length. Could it be tht vapor canister purge valve or solenoid?

Thanks in advance.

@TheOtherNick - thanks for the reply. I'd really like to tackle this on my own. Besides, I live in rural Nova Scotia so the nearest dealer is quite a distance away.

Aside from Gas cap causing the issue, what would be the 2nd most common item to check? I've done some research and hear things like evap purge solenoid or valve but I'm not exactly sure what it looks like or where it is located. Any assistance would be great.

Can someone confirm if this is the correct Evaporator Emission Canister Control Valve for my 2007 Grand Prix? I'm having a difficult time finding a site with part numbers so I'm not 100% sure if this will fit. It has 2 numbers, 214-2147 and 25932569 and I'm not sure what the purpose of the 2 numbers is.

Evaporator Emission Canister Control Valve

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: The correct AC Delco part number is 214-2106 and the GM Part number is 25932568. I replaced mine on the weekend and all is good. No more Check Gas Cap message, and the P0455 code hasn't come back after I cleared it. So far so good.
