Changing the wipers . . .

this is a really dumb question and I'm probably going to *facepalm* when you guys tell me how to do it :P

I got new blades, and on every other car I've owned I was able to raise the wiper arm away from the windshield and swap 'em out, but when I went to do it on my '04 GP the back edge of the hood blocks the arms from swinging out . . .
I also couldn't figure out how to get the blades to park in the up position because I figured 'up' is the way to do it but they would always return to the down position when I took the key out . . .
so what am I missing?

heh I'm willing to bet that this is a RTFM issue :P

Get in your car, turn the key to the ACC position and turn on your wipers and leave your door open. When they get to the up position turn the key to off and get out and then change them. That's how I do it anyway... I have an '04. Hope this helps!

turns out I was pulling the stalk down for the quick wipe-once, which always parks the blades down no matter what :th_shakinghead2:

it's all good . . . now to change my blinker fluid

Its the fluid that collects in your headlights because gm can not make a set of headlights that dont leak.

dont forget to change the bumper fluid, change the air in the tires, and the almighty finagian pins, and while you are at the auto store pick me up a left handed screw driver.

while I'm there I guess I'll also see if they have a round tuit . . . I never have one when I need it

just fyi technically there is headlight fluid. some mercedes have wipers on the headlights. theres also a muffler bearing you can find them on the new ford gt and also i actually ordered a flux capaciter for a guy when i worked at autozone.:th_biggrin2::th_biggrin2::th_biggrin2:
