• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Changed the fuel pump!

Well, the car now has alot more power and no more swarm of bees from the rear either!

If anyone has ever replaced a fuel pump before, you know how hard it is to keep the pump in place while trying to get the clip in. I have a trick for this. I cut a broom handle to the size I needed to hold the pump down and rest at the top of the trunk of the car. There wasn't alot of pressure to break the pump but enough to keep it down so I could work and get that pain clip in!

Got plugs and wires (platinum NGK plugs) and will be replacing them this weekend as well.

The manual and GM both say platinum. Newer cars take iridiums. Coppers suck in GM engines and iridiums will burn hotter, wear out quicker and burn fuel quicker too.

Coppers run great when you're running boost. Especially when modified.

My owners manual (2002) says AC Delco 41-101 which is iridium.

Which seems to run well and last a very long time.

Heat range is based on the ceramic for the most part.

Platinums apparently don't last very long in the DIS ignition system we employ.

You are right! They do call for Iridiums! Carquest steered me wrong and told me it was platinums.

The manual says: NGK Type PTR4B-15 which are Iridiums. I'm glad I checked this thread before changing the plugs tomorrow! Thanks!

Not a problem.

Kind of a side note: laser iridiums are one of the absolute most expensive plugs out there.

Standard iridiums should be fine.

OK. I haven't seen laser iridiums as an option, so I guess they aren't worth the price. I'll change the plarinums for iridiums Monday.

I thought it was required to say "eh" in each Canuck post?

You know, I've actually never used it. I'm born and raised in Quebec and you never hear anyone say "Eh" in Montreal. I guess it's the French culture. However, when I lived in Ontario I heard it many times daily!

Yeah the Eh seems to be more prominent with the French Canadians, and they also tend to have that "Canuk" accent. I play some online games with some guys from Canada and if you didnt know any better you would assume they were from the states.
