Change Vin / Serial Number of Bin File

Scotty and I were having some trouble changing Vin / Serial Number info of certain bins from certain later model year PCMs. Tiny Tuner did not seem capable of making the changes. I used a free hex editor to get around this issue.

1. Download hex editor and install:

https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

2. Open the hex editor program you just installed

3. Use File--> Open and select the Bin you want to modify

When you open it, it will look like a crazy mass of numbers. No fear! It's going to be really simple.

4. Click the "search" menu, then click "replace"

5. In the "Search for" box, enter the vin number that is already on the bin file.

6. In the "Replace with" box, enter the vin number you would like to put on the bin.

7. Click the "Replace all" button

8. Repeat steps 4-7 for the Serial Number if you need to.

9. Use File ---> Save to save your changes.

Bin is now successfully changed.

this is the only thread with this info in it that i know of, its inside a dhp bin drop box thread. cause it goes hand and hand with bns

oh i really meant changing vin in hptuners

you would need to have that other vin unlocked to do that. aka pay up more credits. for just that car, or the whole year if the same year.
