hmmm, not sure how bad that is...i know the coating is like a lubricator basically, i know abrasive knows a ton about m90's so he may know if theres something you could recoat em with

either that or i might have mine recoated... whichever is cheaper. anyone have a good set that they can part with?

Dude, it even says in your owners manual to not spray anything in there that ha methyl etheyl keytones in it. Basically carb cleaner.

Yea, I was impressed when I saw that in the owners book. I just pulled the tb to clean mine. Oh well, I think there's a guy on here that epoxy coats the blower rotors. He'll hook you up

Well i know you can clean with brake clean so im not sure about carb cleaner. I dont use the stuff ever cause it doesnt ever dry correctly.

^^^^ uuhhh, thats how i took the coating off of my rotors...therefore-PROOF...getting them was gonna be more expensive, it was cheaper just to buy another s/c cheaply from ebay. . so thats what i did..and yes carb. cleaner will and does remove the coating.

prove it. take a perfect set and run a little carb cleaner through it. i bet it does not touch the coating. i ran meth through my perfect rotors for quite a while and it did absolutely nothing.

^^obviously..i wish i had contacted u before i got a s/c from ebay.. wasn't a total loss, i ported the case, and sold old case and rotors. but yeah, great deal for him.

"prove it"??? are u serious? i had the rotor pack out gently sprayed the off when i was cleaning out the case.. just because u think u know all doesn;t really mean much to some. ur advice and insight is very helpful alot of times. then other times u sound like a jerk-because YOU haven't seen it. i don't know, maybe u just come off acting like a jerk, but maybe ur not.

prove it. carb cleaner didnt do that. those rotors are old.
the rotors were fine until sprayed the throttle body down, after i sprayed it and cleaned out throttle body.. i looked at rotors and the coating was literally bubbling off... i ran my finger across it and it was mush. keep in mind i peeled alot of it off after i realized they were ****ed.
Good news is it appears you have 76 cents to put towards a new set.
lmao, good observation skills. got bud to smoke on too. :)

no i do not. i sold them along with another spare case and a fac. size pulley. then i bought another spare motor that i'm rebuilding-therefore 1 spare s/c. its a gen 3 but it'll be good to have a spare. if i do ever try to sell , i'd let u know. i do not have much in it.

the coating wont come off with spraying it with anything. the coating only chips off on its own. its not even anything that would just wipe off with a spray. youd have to scrape at it. you wiped it down to a chrome/polished look with just carb spray and a rag? how is carb spray with alcohol any different from methanol?
