• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

car won't start

No it will still turn with the belt on. You either need to somehow stop the engine from turning, or use an impact gun. Are you saying that the bolt is actually loose?

I'm not sure if its actually loose I was just gonna try to tighten it up to see if I could get it to stop having play in and out

Well if there's play in and out, then that's definitely the issue right there. The space between the HB and the engine is very specific for the crankshaft position sensor to accurately pick up the signal.

Just had my father in law stop by and he's worked on his fair share of vehicles and he listened to it while I tried starting it. He said that clunk I have almost sounds like a piston hitting a valve or something. Hes convinced that the timing chain hopped a tooth or something.

I don't know what to do now. I'm gonns talk to the mechanic who installed the engine tomorrow and see where my warranty will get me and if its only gonna parts then I will prolly pull the engine myself and start tearing into it. If I have to do it myself I'm gonna take my time and prolly xp it and throw a gen v on it. Maybe even injectors and some e85. I'd just do all the stuff I had planned for the future now

Hope you get everything figured out. That's what happened to me in my truck except it sounded like a cannon went off and it would crank dump fuel and back fire. I hate diagnostics. Good luck man

Yea that should be replaced lol. Either get a good one from the JY for el cheapo or get one from parts store and use coupon code. I went the parts store route since I was somewhat on a time crunch and didn't feel like hitting the JY.

Lol yeah. I just got a video of it trying to start and its uploading now. After watching the video, the clunk could be that hb boucing in and out while its turning. Ill post vid in a sec

Yuuuup told ya it wasn't a piston lol. I really think you wanted it to be so you can do a build.

You know what's next new HB and CPS

Lol I do really wanna do a big build but didn't wanna have to do it right now with the holidays quickly approaching. Thank you guys so much for all the help. So glad I found this site lol

One last question lol. Would that hb have come off my old engine or would the new engine come out of the crate with that hb on it. Just trying to figure out how that could have happened on an engine with 13k on it. It would make sense if that's the same hb that now has 193k on it

not sure if a crate engine comes with one or not, but if not, you'll have a good one now. (after you pick up another one)

Don't lie to yourself you know your going to ask more questions lol bring then on.

If it's a crate engine it should of came with one but I wouldn't put to much thought into it, it's one of those parts that typically go bad after awhile it's not uncommon at all.
