Car wont start, Help Please

just got a 1999 Grand Prix GTP, drove it home it was fine, next day turn the key and it shuts off. had flashing red lisecurity light, read how to disarm the anti theft system,car started up. went to go to work the next day and turned the corner the car shut off but started right up. stopped at the atm and shut the car off, went back to start and same thingwouldnt start. got a ride to work went back to tow it and just for kicks tried to start it and it started right up, drove it home and havent driven it since. every where I read said it was a pass lock problem, my car thinks I am trying to stealit. could this be the issue? if so how do I fix this? I have not got to drive my car since I got 2 weeks ago UGGGGGG Help Please !!!
 


if oyu got the security light to go off. it could be a crank bad sensor.

any chance you noticed if the tach went to zero before it stalled out?
 
no did not notice if the tach went to zero, the light is off but everywhere I have read said it sounded like the pass lock and I am not sure how to tell if that is it. crank sensor would that keep it from starting?
 
also if it was the crank shaft sensor wouldnt I get a check engine light? I have no light on, had one forthe map sensor replaced it and the light went away
 


crank sensor is the one sensor that wont set a code most of the time.

security problems will usually start up run for 10 seconds and stall. or not start at all.

is the key your using have a chip in it?
 
if the security light is on, or blinking, your still having a security issue. you should have a key with a chip in it.

most auto lock smiths can cut and program a new key for 1/2 what a dealer would charge.
 


Fuel pump resistor going out by chance? I had the same thing happening when mine went, it would start and choke out unless i held the pedal to the floor. Not sure why the security light would be on, but if its off now and your still getting stalling/no start maybe something to look into. Heres a link if you need more info google the fuel pump resistor bypass and see if it resolves the no start stalling issue
 
Ok took the relay out bent the 85 taband vrooooom thank you ! started right up, my only question is I smell alot of fuel now is this going tobe ok till I get the new resistor kit?
 
i actually have a spare resistor if your interested. i bought it for my gtp when i thought it was bad but turned out to be something else. Its basically brand new just thrown in the car to run a test. sold my car and no longer have a need for it. let me know if your interested
 


Thanks, Eneded up gettting one already and changed car works now, but now the check engine light is on and the abs light is on uggg lol now guess I will have to figure that out
