Car won't start but when it does, runs fine

I drive a 2000 Grand prix 3.8L Supercharged and recently have been having some issues. Basically, the car wont start. The starter has power and turns over, but it wont engage and start. Also, I cannot smell gas. Ill usually give a tap behind the rear passenger seat in the trunk (where i believe the fuel pump is) and sometimes that does the trick, but most times I still get no start. However, when I do get her running, she runs perfectly fine. I also believe it may be the fuel pump as well as I hear no hum when I turn the ignition to "on". There's just so many components to the fuel system, it is hard to pinpoint the problem. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
 


Sounds like the pump is dying. Could do the resistor mod a get a little more life out of it maybe.
