Car won't start after being turned off breifly

My girlfriend has a 99 and recently she has been having an issue where she will turn the ignition off to go in a store quickly or pump gas, and then once she attempts to restart the engine it won't start. It won't even crank. If the car is left alone for 30mins to an hour it will then start straight away no problem.

This does not happen every time the car is restarted and started again after a short duration.

I have worked on a few cars but only ever european as I am from the UK. To me this sounds like an immobilizer issue? She has a remote starter on the car which I think could also be suspected. I was just wondering if the grand prix has an immobilizer as standard.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated so thanks in advance
 


Okay thanks. The reason I thought it might be immobilized is I had an immobilized issue on a truck where it just would not start even briefly. All dash stuff would light up turn the key and nothing. Which is fairly identical to the situation with this

She had a garage look at it and they said they checked over the grounding of the starter etc but I may have to check into that myself.
