Car won't fire after LIM install

After I put the engine back together and went to start (I had already changed the oil after install) it would try to start then stop. Finally got it going for a few minutes, gave it gas because it sounded like it just needed to burn out some crap. Well doing so the engine just stopped. Tried pulling a spark plug to see if any fuel was at least getting to it, coolant started pouring out of the hole. Without tearing it apart (probably will start to do that soon) anyone have any idea as to what has failed? I don't know a lot but I do know coolant should not be pouring out ha ha.

You are saying the cylinder is filled with coolant? If so It is either the head gasket or the LIM is leaking coolant into the cylinder some how. You need to pull the heads.

Yeah I hooked up a hose to a meat syringe and sucked a bunch of coolant out of the cylinders. Also it just won't start at all now. Could the whole thing just be locked up?

You mean it wont turn over? I would stop trying to start it. You have liquid in the cylinders liquid does not compress and you are going to bend a rod it you have not all ready?

That's exactly what I was hoping wasn't the case... going to get it towed to a local shop on monday just to get it checked for sure before dropping money/getting a new car... Thanks for the help though man

dont tow pull the plugs and drain the af then spin the motor over with no plugs in it spin with the ign key to blow all of the af out of the cylinders it will be messy get some oil soak .after you do this drain the oil now!! then pull your upper intake and replace it you will have to replace plugs again but this will fix your problem did you replace upper intake or reuse old one

Thanks for that tip, i'll have to consider that. I'm at school right now so i've been going home on the weekends to work on it.
Will that work if it won't crank at all? We managed to get a ton of coolant out by sucking it out with a small tube, but like i said before, when we went to start it, nothing but a quick grind sound and it would stop.

I reused the upper intake, and if you're talking about the gasket also I reused that too.

That's why...the gasket was prolly shot and hello coolant into your motor.

I'd drain the oil...get new plugs...new LIM gaskets (GM ONES, not Felpro CRAP)...get it all cleaned up and if it starts...let it run for a minute...rev it up...then shut it off after there are no leaks...and change the oil again...filter too.

pull the heads make shure u didnt bend a rod or the crank for that matter replace all gaskets rebuild BETTER hehehe and then drive the **** outa it

^^What?

That was a ridiculous statement to tell the guy. Have you ever seen a bent crank in a N/A 3800 car? Or Rod for that matter?

you do not need to pull the heads!!!!!!!!!!!! but you do need to drain the oil, also the upper intake needs to come off. and go get 2-3 quarts of cheap oil and pour the oi lin the valley to flush the af out of the upper part of the motor. the af is corrosive to bearings that is why you need to do this and then do like bluegtp91 says but time is of the essence
