car will only shift into 3rd at 40mph, and when i let my foot off the gas
it'll run all the way up to 3k rpm at 38mph in 2nd everytime

its fine when im pegging it but when im commuting its ****in annoying
i got no dtcs at all and ive got 120k on stock tranny

I say your first step should be to d/c your battery for 15-30 minutes. Then hook it back up. This will reset your pcm. Then go drive and see if it does it again.

ive had PCS, TCC, and a shift solenoid codes in PCM but never got a SES light.. u sure u didnt have a code for something else that set off light?

ive done this a few times and its still the same
and ill scan it while driving to see if anything happens

it hard shifts but only when its hot, and theres a noticable pause between shifts in other gears too

and its whining in 2nd gear only

could it be a bad EPC solenoid?
 
ok so
no dtcs at all

and the tranny is getting worse. when it gets hot, 4th gear wont work

when the trannys hot theres this huge whining sound coming from the rear of the car

could it be a problem with the cooling system? maybe the tranny line is clogged with dexcool
 
no stock pcm
i drove it yesterday and it was almost fine except 3rd gear, and it was a cool 75f

strange thing is i can use third gear but cant accelerate in 3rd gear, if i do it drops to 2nd
 


As a couple of others have said, I'd look for a used trans with lower miles or get someone locally to quote a rebuild...
