Car was way faster before the gears were programed

Ok, So when I first got my 3.29s installed I drove my car back from the garage and befor the gears were programmed into the PCM it was so much faster. Wayy more power according to the butt dyno. This was the only time I drove it like that because I knew it wasnt too good for it. When I programmed the gears in tho it felt alot slower. This has always kinda been a question in my head. Any insight would be appreciated. I hope im not sounding dumb im just curious.

2.93's have a higher shift point in normal driving than 3.29's. Dependin on how you programmed them, they can be changed as long as you aren't over revving.

Well it would have been 3.69s right being a gtp. And the car seemed to shift when it was supposed to just fine. It was shifting really hard if I remember but that was it. Just wondering if I messed up programming my gears or not. I put 3.69 in the ratio block after getting my 3.29s because thats what I read to do. Am I wrong?

But in hptuners when I had 2.93s it said I had 3.29s. Then when I got my 3.29s I put 3.69. Is that right???

No that is incorrect. The differential final drive ratio is always 3.29. It's the sprocket size that causes it to be 2.93, 3.29, or 3.69. Go back in, put in 3.29 back in that field in hptuners and on that same page there should be Sprocket Ratio that will be at something like 1.12xxx. You need to change that to 1 and then program for your correct shift points if you haven't already done so.
