Car starts, but stalls

I have the 3.1L in my 02 grand prix. It starts up, but unless I hold the gas pedal down it stalls. When it stalls sometimes it pops and smokes a little out the air filter. Anyone have any idea what that could be? TPS sensor, MAP, and IAC are all brand new.

Unplug the MAF sensor and see what happens. If it runs "better" then your MAF is bad. Also, scanned for codes yet?

only code is cat but i dont have one. never have.

Ill try the maf tomorrow.

also you can unplug your o2 sensor and see if it runs any better. just ruling out options lol

Check fuel pressure?

Fuel pressures fine. Got an EGR valve from a buddy, so I am going to try swapping that for a laugh. My plugs didn't look the best so im puttin new ones in too.

I have the same issue too, however, I am fearing a cracked block., my car starts, runs for a few seconds.. then dies, buddy that got the car to start discovered a puddle of water underneath my car.. a pretty good sized one.

Try unplugging the MAF and starting.
I just had a loose MAF connection with the same issue - was not firmly plugged in, so caused stalls.
