Car running rough and won't start sometimes

Here's the deal. I got a 97 GTp. Every now and then when your driving it just sputters and shuts down. I was getting the rotton egg smell also. So I figured it was the converter. I limped it home by poking a hole in the converter and when I got home I cut the converter off to put a new one on or just replace it with a piece of pipe not knowing how much a new converter is. I took it for a spin without the converter on and it would drive fine for 15 seconds then sputter and die. It doesn't do this all the time but lately it's been doing it a lot. I've replaced the plugs and wires about a month ago and have double checked them to make sure they didn't pop off. I've also replaced the TPS sensor and the MAP sensor withen 2 months. I have not checked the fuel pressure though but will tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone knows anything to help. Thank you!
