Car randomly won't start

I just recently replaced my ignition switch to fix my heater etc and right after that the car now randomly won't start, everything will turn on but the starter does absolutely northing, and then after a lot of tries it will randomly start. I'm just wondering if the used switch I put in could be the problem and how I could test it (or witch two wires it is to just hot wire it from now on)
