Very weird things going on with the car. 06 GXP with 11,500 miles.
Driving home and the car engine starts shuddering (lack of a better description) and shuts off. I shift it into neutral and restart the engine. The Service Stability Control light comes on and the cruise and electric locks don't work. I pull over to the side of the road, put the car in park and shut it off. I wait about 20 seconds restart the car and the warning lights are off and everything is working. I start driving again. The engine starts shuddering again about 15 minutes later, I press the gas to the floor and it kicks back in and runs like nothing is wrong. About 15 minutes later, the engine shudders and turns off again, at which point I notice white (not bluish) smoke behind the car. I pull over put the car in park and wait about 20 seconds. I restart the car and accelerate away. There is white somke coming from the exhaust for about 3 or 4 seconds and then it's gone. Car drives fine the rest of the way home, but I am not willing to make my 100 mile round trip commute with the car like this! There is no check engine light or anything other than the stability control thing.
I really have no clue as to what is going on with the car, but it is kinda pissin me off....any ideas?
