You have a check engine light?

Because that's the IAT sensor...it has nothing to do with controlling engine temps...that just tells the PCM what the incoming air temps are. It has been pretty hot recently...sure that isn't it...plus if you still have a stock tune...with stock fan turn on points...and a stock T-Stat...200* isn't hot...when your getting past 228*...then I'd worry.

seems hot to me i dont know why lol. but it just felt like the car was running hot and crappy :( i just freak out about engine temp what can i do too make it run cooler?

yes MAF code but it went away today and came back so i figured it was just the same code

Mine's gotten up to 230* a coupe times.

I had a piece of crap of sunfire that would over heat all the time thats why i was like wtf not my gp lol this is the first time i noticed it get that hot

MAF and the IAT are two totally different things tho...

If your still running a stock 195* T-Stat...then that's not hot...because there is still about a 10-20* leway in what the temp of the tstat is to what the ACTUAL temp is...where I see on my Aeroforce...I see anywhere from 168-182...and I run a 160* T-Stat...so where I assume a 180* would get close to 200 and a 195 might be around 220* tops.

If you want to keep the car cooler...get a tuned PCM and a 180*...and get some headers...those cast iron manifolds like to hold in heat...along with the engine cover and hood liner...toss that crap out too.

Im getting headers next month speed daddy's. got the hood liner and cover off still have stock heads could i get the pcm now before the headers ? i want to add perf shift cant with my stock i tryed and it did not work

You run a wire to the pin #23...or #26....can't remember...then run it to the Perf. Shift knob...that's it.

Stock heads...have to do what with a PCM and headers? Are you tearing the motor down to get the heads ported? If so...that would help kill knock and allow for more of a pulley drop...but won't let the motor run COOLER really.

no porting just headers and a 3.4 when i have all the supporting mods. but when i tryed the add perf shift i used a cheap toggle with a positive ground and negative and had no luck with it all hooked up thinking it was the switch

If you want your car to run cooler without doing anything to it. Add a bottle of purple ice. Its a radiator additive you can drop temps of up to 28* its pretty good. Had a old lt1 ta that ran hot droped a bottle of it in. It usually ran about 220-225 after I put that in ran about 205-210. Worth it for a few bucks
