• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Car is leaking 2 or 3 drops a night

Usually when my car is hot, and been running for a while, it only gets to about half from 160 and the middle mark

Plus my car is setting a p1811 code anytime it hard shifts. Doesn't light up, but I check it every once in a while

I think the owner's manual gives the procedure for checking. This is the procedure on my 08 as I remember it:

Car needs to be warmed up to normal operating temp, park the car, shift into R>N>D>3>2>1 and wait for 5 seconds in each gear selection, put the car and park and let the car idle for 3-5 minutes. Check fluid level after wiping off the dipstick once.

Shame you didn't happen to add a shift kit when you did the fluid/filter. The shift kit make the trans shift sooner and usually alleviates the P1811. FWIW that code is never going to turn on the light, like most trans codes. They are programmed to reset with ignition cycling as well.

I added a half of a quart. Took it for a ride. Thought it was fine, still shifting hard. I checked it and the fluid was in the range... this is getting annoying

Mine took 7.5 quarts when I did shift kit. Also I think you want to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes so the computer will relearn your shift pressures.

While it's annoying, please let yourself learn from the experience. You shotgunned a filter and fluid in there. You didn't check the level, now that you've got it topped off that is a good thing. The reason why it's shifting hard at times is that it sees a long shift time and sets P1811 (never turns the check eng light on). To bandaid/fix it the issue good enough, put in a transgo shift kit.

To actually fix the issue, rebuild the transmission with all the sonnax and transgo updates.

Had you taken a little extra time and looked around the forum for the issue, you should have found a lot of threads suggesting the shift kit. Which could have been put in when you did the pan drop.
