Car has lifter tick and ticks on acceleration

I own a 2005 grand prix gtp,I did a tune about 200 miles ago with royal purple 5w30 synthetic, new wires and plugs(autolite 605) and a 180 degree stat .I just finished installing headers and a bigger intake(9 inch) . The problem I am having is that when I turn on the car in the morning I hear a lifter tick, I was told to let it warm up which I have. As I accelerate the lifter tick is also heard it is pretty annoying, the car also feels heavy and sluggish. Should I be concern ? or should I go with a thicker oil ? I need to resolve this issue I just ordered a new pcm(intense) and will soon be installing a smaller pulley (3.5). Any help will be appreciated thanks!:)

mine did the loud ticking for a while to, i did a oil change and put 2 quarts of 40 weight oil and 3 quarts of 30 and that shut it up. haven't heard it again, and have done 2 oil changes since then. both with 30 weight oil.

from what i've read its normal and ok if it stops after a few minutes.

You installed headers.

I say exhaust leak.

Like at the flex pipe if you bought SD's off ebay.

The tick was there before the headers it is coming from the front valve cover. It is more noticeable with the new oil I poured RP HPS 5w30. I replaced the SD flexpipe with a stronger one provided by Drunkie when he sold me the headers.

Ok so I went ahead and replaced with mobil 1 10w30 full synthetic($25 at walmart), as I poured out the old oil(new had just put it in about 2 weeks ago)it seemed like the oil was water lol super thin .

If the tick doesn't go away put a bottle of lucas oil stabalizer in it that stuff is pretty thick and should take care of it. If not then put 1/3 a bottle of seafoam in it about 100 miles before an oil change. It worked on my mom and dads venture.

Thanks for the advice, I have some leftover lucas oil stabilizer from using it in my other car ill use it if it still continues.
