Car died while driving! NO POWER

I have an 2000 GP and after getting a jump start the car turned off twice while on my way home. The first time the car turned off the dashboard was still on and the battery light was on so I just pulled over and started the car back up with no problem. The second time the car turned off and the dashboard was on for a few seconds and when then car completely stopped there was no power at all. The key is still in the ON position and i can not remove it. I have changed the battery and still nothing. I have checked all fuses and still nothing.

Possibly the alternator is dead, you can have it checked at AutoZone. As far as the key there is a hole under the steering wheel that can be pushed to remove the key. Use a screwdriver and insert it into the hole and remove the key.

Have the battery and alternator tested at the parts store. Also make sure your battery/ground cables are good and free of any corrosion.

when it just stalls did the tach drop to zero? if so your crank sensor is dead. has nothing to do with the battery issue tho. get the bat and alt tested.

the key wont turn back and come out if the battery is dead. you then need to push the button in under the column. or hook jumper cables up to power the car. then it will turn back.

It's not a sensor. You have an issue with your battery or a ground. Try wiggling the battery cables with the headlights turned on and see if you can make them turn on by wiggling it.
