car died at idle

So after work I took my buddy to the bank and as I was out waiting for him my car just up and died. I tried startin it back up and and it wouldnt stay runnin I could hold down the gas pedal and it would stay running.. so I unplugged the MAF sensor and she stayed running .. so am I goin to have to get a new MAF or is there a way just to clean it up?? cuz I really don't wanna spend 140 bucks on a new one!

you can clean the contacts in it with some electronics cleaner, but if it really took a crap youll need a new one anyway.
