Car Audio Help

I have a 99 grand prix se with the bose audio system. I recently hooked up a new radio. Everyhing works except the sound. There's one input that plugs into the factory radio, that i can't plug into the harness kit,and the harness kit is the correct one. It's a red wire with a black and red input on it.I think its the plug that controls the sound and i can't figure out where it goes. Do i have to splice it or what??? Help!!!!:th_shakinghead1:

See the pink wire on..oh geez pin 7 or pin 1 of that small harness. Power it off the amp turn on from the radio.

You'll have sound once you power the stock amp.

I just installed a new radio and removed the factory one. I haven't installed a amp or sub woofers yet. The harness has no pink wire at all.

What color wires are in that small connector on pins 1 and 7?

Bose has a factory amp. Which requires power or you get no sound.

I have a picture of the harness kit,but it won't let me upload it,but the wiring kit i got has the connector on one end and the wires out the other. There isn't a small connector attached.

In your first post you said
"There's one input that plugs into the factory radio, that i can't plug into the harness kit,"

That "input".. is likely the power to the amp. I assumed it was a 7 or 9 pin connector that connected in about the middle of the radio. No need to give me a picture. I understand the issue... I think lol

Nope..you got the right harness. They don't make one for the seperate connector you have.

I have a spare connector laying around here somewhere that I take wires out of to add to their connector and put the wire into it. Then it's all on one connector.

Power the factory amp.

What color wires are in that little connector?
You need to put your remote amp turn on wire from the radio to the amp turn on typically.

Dude..your killing me.

You should have had
one BIG connector on the factory radio
One little connector on the factory radio
One antenna wire on the factory radio

Now you hooked up all the wires from the factory big connector to your new headunit connector
You hooked up the antenna to your new head unit.

See what I'm saying.. you left out the little guy.

Lol ok. The only wire in the little connector is red.

Red means power.

That wire leads to the amplifier. Take the blue wire from your amp remote turn on from your new head unlt and hook it to that wire.

Then send money to me via paypal for pain and suffering. :th_biggrin2::th_biggrin2::eek::th_peaceout:
