I have had 2 GTP's that had a rather large front skid plate (plastic) under the subframe at the front. It blocked off all underneath access to to areas like the bottom of the rad. If the end tanks are leaking or the hose has a split or the overflow is busted at the end tank, coolant can drip down & sit on the skid plate until you start throwing these pigs into a few corners at which time the coolant flies off the skid plate and mother nature sucks it back. Might be a slim possibility but I have experienced it when my overflow hose leaked & all the air being thrown around from the pulleys & belt was spraying **** all over the place. If the coolant he sees is localized to only the power steering pump area then I would retract my suggestion unless he has two simultaneous leaks?
Just had my 2000 gtp in the shop for coolant leak, they told me it is the heater valve and needs replaced. Now I am going to try to find out where it's located and see if I can change it myself...
end tanks are just that. the sides of the rad, they are plastic, one side houses the trans cooler, the other side in some cars can be a oil cooler.
they can crack and leak to the lower cross member area under the rad. sometimes they wont leak till the cars all warmed up too.
you should just go do a free rental deal and pick up a pressure tester, it pumps air into the rad, and has a gauge on it, so you can see if it looses pressure, if its loosing pressure, its also forcing it to leak out somewhere.
