Can't Get Drivers CV Shaft Out

Is there a trick to getting the drivers side out, I've tried ply bar, bent my 4ft par. i've tried wrapping a rope around it and useing a tie down to pull on it. it moves about 2-3 cm.
 


Simultaneously pry with a crowbar near the transmission (not on the seal though), and hit it at the same time with a hammer or mallet. It's easier to do with 2 people.
 
It's a compression circlip that's holding it. If you put constant pressure, it's going to be super tight and likely going to fight the whole way at this point.

You might be better off pulling the passenger side, popping the output shaft out of the diff and pulling the axle with the output shaft. Then you can hold the output and beat the heck out of the back of the inner cv cup with it out of the car.
 
I always just used a crowbar and a quick yank popped it out.

If that fails get under from the passenger side, with a pipe, or something long you cant hit the piss out of, and put that on the axle and one quick pop with a hammer does it.
 
As bill said, constant pulling isn't going to get it out easy. You need a quick and sharp force to compress the ring and let it come out. I use a pry bar like this:

Works quite well most of the time.

The other shaft is out too
 
you need to put a pry bar behind the cv shaft where it goes into the trans, and with your foot give it a sharp kick and pull it at the same time, its needs to be popped or it wont come out, a straight pull on it wont work.
 


Well i got the itch out but the whole shaft came with and only half of a clip. still can't get it to come of the shaft. I put it in a vice and beat the crap out of it and just a sore hand.
 


Hold the output shaft (part from inside the trans) in your left hand with the cv axle dangling to the floor. Now take your 3-5lb super BFH and hit the backside fo the cv cup. Repeatedly. Sooner or later it'll come out.

And yeah..if you are charged, I think i have an output shaft laying around here.

I've fought this battle. Keep on beating it. It will eventually come out. To reinstall that shaft. Gently slide it through the trans. When it bottoms out at the diff, turn it a little to feel it then give it one quick hit to seat it back into the diff.

Now...if the axle is good on the driverside. then put the thing back in as a whole and don't worry about it til the axle goes bad.
