While ive been out driving breaking in my car, when it goes from 3rd to 4th the rpms fluctuate. It wont steadily rise as i ease on throttle. Doesnt do it in any other gear except 4th. And also right when it shifts to 4th it will kinda bogg then take off. Then when i let off the gas it jerks bad. Its hard to explain. Maybe a few of u might understand what im trying to get at. It will be tuned on saturday. So could it be tuned out since i have no doubt its running rich?

its probably because your transmission isnt used to all that power youre making so its acting funny. not only do you have to tune for the motor, you need to tune for the transmission.

either that or it sounds like your torque converter is sticking.

So unless its still does it after tuning, i dont need to really worry too much about it since im in dire need of a tune

alright cool. its just annoying to drive with that happening. after the 150 miles i have left are done. the motor will be broken in. Gonna install the wideband, drop the tank and drain all gas for E85, install new fuel filter, put my other bmr forwrd lateral arms on since the tank is off and go get her tuned. cant fricken wait. and after shes all dialed in, the guy who is tuning it said we will throw his 2.8 on and see how that goes.

will let all of u know by sunday. Thanks for the help bio.

Like what Nick said...sounds like typical TQ. Lockup...easy way to fix it is let out of the throttle and get back in the gas.

btw...who's tuning it?

thats exactly what i would do and it would go away until the next time. ****ing zzp tourque converters!

and Glanzergtx will be tuning it .

Now don't quote me as I never tuned a car besides dropping a base .bin file in one or scanning it with a DHP...but...isn't there an option for where the TQ will lock @ "x" throttle position and "y" RPM's? Can't that be changed?

sounds like the converter, check the fluid level, also check for debris and to see if its burned. see if the tuner can check out the lockup settings. if none of that fixes it prepare for a new converter

More than what I would have spent...hell his water pump, Polished GenV, and IC was almost my entire build I bet...must be nice to have money

haha ya i blew a **** ton of money. but now that i have a job, it will be all paid back. I hope its not the ****ing converter i will be pissed. tranny fluid is fine and isnt burnt.

also with my mods now without cam, should i be running 104s instead of 103s? what gap?

i ask because ive gapped the 103s at 55 and they change gap themselves after driving for awhile. ive replaced them once and it still did it so im assuming i need to be at 104s but figured id ask.

plugs usually reflect what pulley you are running. ~3.4 setup id run 104s, anything 3.2 and low id run 103s.

i usually gapped my plugs small because i never wanted to play with them after i put them in since i didnt care to worry about blowing out the spark. i usually gapped mine in the .050 area.

isnt .045 and lower usually for around turbo setups? could be wrong but thought ive heard. Well ill pick up some 104s as well since we will probably start with the 3.4. being as im not tuned yet is probably why the gapping is changing.
