Can I take these guys?

There's two 5.0 Foxbody guys that wanna race me, I know I can take the first one, he says he's at low 15's, he even admitted he'll probably lose when he saw my blower :p He's actually got a decent set of mods, it's just not tuned at all so it's not doing much.
It's the second one that I'm worried about, not sure what the mods are but he says he runs low 14s to high 13s, it sounds cammed but I'm not sure.
Mods are in sig.

how can a modded fox body still be running 15s/14s? fox bodies are fast even lightly modded.

Idk, he said it's only high 14s, eaither he's got very little mods or he's got alot and he's knocking like a mother****er without a tune.

Btw I don't know why the hell this ended up in the rant section, odd, last time I thought I was posting in rant it ended up in kill stories lol.

I bet if you race them, you'll be surprised. I wouldn't be worried, i'd go for it.

As for foxes running high 14s/low 15s w/ bolts ons, thats quite common around here if you go to my local track. You need to do a bit more than bolt ons to really wake up and old fox, something like heads and a cam are in order. I used to know an ol boy with an 89 fox with all the bolt ons and longtubes, e303 cam, 4.11s and DR and it was a constant 13.8-13.9 car in the 1/4 mile w/ a good 60 ft. . Not really uncommon times for those mods. It would of really woke up with some heads and alot bigger cam IMO. Those cars really have alot of potential, just need to right heads and cam or a big shot of Nitrous. Even the 96-98 GTs with bolt ons are nothing to worry about there generally in the 14s-15s as well. I've raced alot of GTs and Cobras with my GTPs, nothing out there has surprised me yet out of a bolt on car.

If your GT is tuned right and running knock free i don't see why you wouldn't be a high 13 - low 14 sec car as it sits. Your biggest issue will be getting out of the hole with those 3.29s...

Thanks man, yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure I'm far from knock free right now, need to get some more tuning done, then I'll race both of em. The second one I know is cammed, I can hear it. The first one took a look at my engine the other day and just said "you're gunna own me" :p, so I'm not too worried there, but the second one should be a challenge.
Is it alot different launching with the boost/3.29s? I haven't really done any launching yet cuz I know I'm knocking and I like my pistons intact.

3.29s make launching alot more challenging especailly if you're making some power. IMO, it was hard enough for me when I was running 2.93s muchless 3.29s.

If you have NO experiance on launching you car, you need to learn! You'll sit there and spin your ass off while your opponent pulls away from you. Launching is the key, you need to hook as fast as you can to win any races. Torque is a beautiful thing, just gotta learn how to use it....

i brake torque to about 2 grand let it jump into a roll a lil and ease into the throttle pretty quickly until i get a nice clean squeel/chirp then mash it :)

Exactly what I was thinking.
I gotta figure out what's up with my car first though. Replaced the MAF and it's still running lean, I have no idea from this point what's going on.

brian your going to get smoked if its the burgandy fox body in mchenry.... i know the orginal owner before he sold it to some dumbass kid.

Yeah the second one is the burgandy one. Ohh so he bought it pre-modded and he's been running around trying to say he did all the **** himself? That kid's always been a douche.

hah! i love it when people buy a car with mod's and try to say they did them, bet he really doesnt know what all is in it then..

Custom Tune by FastKatt.. who is that?

Have you dynod your car? If you running stock pulley on your blower and have a tune and running copper 104... I would say your car is proably running well......

Make sure you look at there engine... make sure you hear it run make sure there not cammed....

Fastkatt is pretty much the best local guy around for custom street tunes.
It's probably running OK I guess, but there's a vac leak somewhere I've gotta find today, it needs more tuning (we didn't actually get to drive it around and dial it in yet, when he came out, one of the gaskets wasn't sealed right so the car would stay running), and I need a bigger downpipe.
Yeah the guy's cammed I can hear it.

Yeah I don't think he does. The kids always been an idiot, when I heard the car and the track times it was getting I was like "oh, maybe he IS good for something, he knows how to mod", but nope, still a dbag :P.
He drives it around with the seat tipped back and one arm on the top of the steering wheel at all times, wearing giant white sunglasses. That should say it all.
