Can i switch dash vins?

It already had the built 351 and T5 when I got a hold of it. I'm a body man. Since you're replacing a toploader and the trans has more than one shifter mount position, I think if you do a normal amount of research you'll find its easier than many other swaps. Headers with a stick and stock power steering though, in a 70? MMM- get ready to bleed. If your combo doesn't need big primary tubes maybe. I pretty much had to precision-re-engineer the Z-bar, that was a nightmare.

454 maybe ? I dunno anything but ford and a little chevy but your saying you couldnt get a big block in say a 69 gto?

FOX body Mustangs can be holy terrors if a guy has the stones to push them...

SD, theres always the low-deck 301 but yeah, all the same dimensions externally except that one. There were several mount designs though, just to complicate.

69 GPs had the 400 as standard equipment (and until '75) but a 428 was available. 440 is MOPAR-speak. Move Over, People Are Racing!

all Pontiac blocks and heads are the same size, 301 all the way up to a 455. bore and stroke and such are whats different. back in the day gm brands had their own engines. caddy had their own, buick, chevy and olds, all very different engines. nothing other then the carbs ( good old quardra bogs) could be swapped from one to the other.

so technically, no, you cant get a big block. cause it dont exist. they did make 455 HO but its just a performance stamp.

454 is a Chevy. In 1970 GPs got the added option of the new 455. Thats what I put in mine, a 71 or 2 455. The reason to not say big block is because unlike other makes, all Pontiac V8s have the same external dimensions. A 455 bolts right in place of 350, see? Pontiac, Buick, and Olds all made their OWN 350s and 455s back when GM divisions developed powerplants independently from "corporate" which happened in like 78-80. Wiki is your friend on all that. Eyelids must, muscle class dismissed.

after 74 everything that was supposed to be, or used to be a muscle car was a boat anchor lol unless you built it.

i hate all this old car talk, makes me miss my old bird. 70 formula 400's were no f ing joke. only lost a few races back in the day, and they were all cars that were modded big time. most were pissed i was still "there" the yell and ***** cause i told them im all stock, now im the looser of a race yet need to show under my hood to shut them up lol

best freak out was a 64 nova gutted, one seat roll cage and sheet metal dash, after i chased his ass all over town he stops, gets out and at the top of his lungs, WTF you got in there? i cant shake you!!!!!! once again, im popping my hood lol

oh, it ate fords for lunch and dinner. i pissed a lot of people off with that car.

then chevy was big for the mighty mouse, (327) and big blocks were anything 396 and up was called a rat. funny but the chevy 400 is a small block go figure that one out lol

thats fords race engine, kinda like the 455 HO or a SS chevy anything.

only ford seems to name the engines, wimpy winsor, crappy cleveland, lol and so on. im no ford fan. never owned one, never will. i dont even like to ride in them.

I will leave no turn unstoned... LOL. Saw where I miised one, about the For Only Retarded Drivers steering conversion. Sorry, had to. Yer on a Pontiac Forum!

You have options... Two words- slave clutch. Or heres three- hydraulic throwout bearing. Our cust wanted simple mechanical clutch linkage that didn't rub and didn't care how long it took me to make it happen.

SD, the full framed LS7 swapped 72 TA project at the shop is about ready to mud. I bet you'd fiend that, ask later and I'll show ya. Junk out.

remember what a Z bar is lol most have no clue or will ever see one. nice simple clutch adjustment. at least you knew your clutch was wearing. and you could adjust it. unlike today, it starts to slip its done for already.

if its got the squared off back window im a fan, once the back windows wrapped the quarter panel and the 75 nose came about, i jumped ship, it got slow and ugly. that goes for camaros and firebirds. i almost bought a 68 bird, so glad i passed on that. rattle box and weak. and it had a 400.
