Can I still put a Transgo shift kit in?

I just recently dropped my tranny pan and cleaned and replaced my filter as well. Everything went well but I never put the shift kit in. Would I be able to drop my pan (again) and keep the filter in, take out what I need to take out for the shift kit and put it back together? Would I have to change the gasket again? And I would obviously get new fluid once again.

Filter should be good and fluid, if it never got hot, should be fine too as long as you keep it clean. Gasket I wouldn't chance but that's just me.

supposedly the oem gasket are reuseable for the trans pan. if you can drain your trans fluid into a clean reservoir its probably reuseable, as well as the filter.

^^X2 on both the previous posts. You could have reused your stock gasket if it was in good shape. But with the replacement one I would be leery.

If it looks good though I would reuse, cause i'm a gambler. Same with the fluid. If it looks ok, and hasn't been run, go with it.

You can clean down the pan area as best as possible. Use a super clean catch pan and reuse fluid. Filter .. reuse it. Gasket.. did you use the crappy rubber pos that comes with the kit or did you reuse the stock gasket with the metal inlaid in it?

50 Miles.. personally.. I'd reuse it all. But you better strain that fluid and make super sure you don't put dirt into the trans. Although.. it'll just end up in the filter.

I just got the intense shift kit in the Mail. Very impressed with the detailed booklet and all the included parts, lube, sandpaper , green pad etc. awesome deal and very well put together. +1 to intense

My question is, WHY did you not put the kit in when everything was apart. All you did was made more than double work for yourself.
