i hate when i cut my fogs on the day and my dic dims so i was wondering can i just cut the dimmer wire and have full dic all the time? i know i can wire my fogs as drl. but if i do that i might just get the 04 gtp fogs and get somebody to retro some projectors in my fogs but use the drl/turn signals for my drl since they have that lovely orange color. but i aint going that far so please if anybody knows which wire to cut let me know:th_thumbsup-wink::th_thumbsup-wink:

The dimming is not controlled by a wire, but it is control by Solar cell that reads the amount light and dims/brighten accordingly. There are writeups on how to replace the cel with a different to make it appear brighter, but I do not know of a way to make it full time bright.

maybe in a newer gtp but when you cut the lights on in the daytime the dic dims 97-03. i know upper gm products dashes stay the same when the lights are turned on in the daytime but gp's arent in that category lol. im pretty sure a dimmer wire can be cut but i'll just rewire my fogs to be my drl

Sorry about bumping an old thread.

When I added my DIC to my 01, I got the dimmer wire mixed with the chime wire, and mine wouldn't dim at night. I figured it out, but if you still want to cut a wire, take out your dic, and on the back, each wire is numbered on the plug. B1 should be a corner wire, it is gray in color, and if you cut it, the DIC will not dim. Your Eng/Met, Reset, Mode, and Trac/TCS button wont light either, so that may be a side affect, depending on who you ask.

Good Luck.
