• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

camshaft is broken...

yeah as long as its from a roller lifter motor it should work fine. the hydraulic lifter motors have a different cam. they have bigger lobes i think, i could be wrong though. another thing.... is it backfiring and missing at all? oh and make sure your plug wiring is in the right place.... ran on 4 cylinders for a week and didnt know what it the problem was until i found a diagram of the coil packs.(bad idea i know but i was desperate had no other car....)

plug wiring is o.k.
someone told me to check the heads, because if cyl. 2 & 4 aren't working, and they are black from carbon- there probably a problem with the head. making sense?

I've had it!!!!
after the machinist checked the heads, he said that the valves aren't closing totally, maybe because the lifters are stuck. he released them- but my mechanic told my that they were just fine before.
so i went and bought another engine.
2 hours of labor left- and i hope the car will run just fine...
damn engine!

wrong pushrods, bad valve seats, or bad springs. most likely wrong pushrods. or.... what i figured would happen.... debris from the broken camshaft got to the lifters which screwed them up. broken cams/cranks are notorious for leaving debris in the motor. which is why i suggested buying a new motor to begin with.
