this was my first legit run with my new set up everything else was just waste of gas running all of these fart canned hondas. anyways sitting at a stop light minding my own biz when this yellow sti pulls up next to me and looks over and kinda laughs. i was not sure if he was going to give it a go but i turned off the tc anyways just incase.light turned green and sure enough he took off. i rolled in the throttle and nailed it as well. he now has a good car on me and i quickly reel him and by about 40 i am starting to pull on him really hard, by the time i hit 60 he was a good car behind. i quess the best part was the look on his face when i went past him. it was priceless im sure alot of you guys have seen that look before. although the car looked stock i am pretty happy with the turn out.

if it was yellow it was an 02-03, a bugeye. they didnt make yellow in the 04+ cars. they also didnt make an STI until 04, so it was just a WRX (even if it had STI badges).

good run, sometimes those 2.0 blocks can see some dumb power levels when put together correctly.

Stock?

Bolt-ons?

FMIC'd?

Yeah, with the glass transmission you had to be careful anyways; also more drivetrain loss due to AWD.

If you reeled him that hard, it was probably stock.

This was my buddy's '04 'Rex with a couple things, but basically stock. Notice the super real in...lol

cool vid, how do you think i would stand with the newer ones with some mild mods or are they all about the same from year to year. im not real up on these scoobies even though i think they are pretty sweet. last thing i want to do is go up to one and think its a walk in the park and get my azz handed to me

STi, especially from a dig; you're gonna get pwnt.

From a roll, you might have a chance.

The newer ones aren't as fast as the mid 00~ ones IIRC.

thanks for the info, what else can i do so i can keep up with these things, will getting a intercooler do it or do i need more. i see alot of these around here and its only a matter of time before this happens again. i feel that i am around 280 whp what are the stis around or is it the fact they are awd.

Maybe 280 WHP...maybe.

With a stout tune.

It took a GenV and an short stack to crack over 300 WHP on that same pulley...

These cars make buttloads of torque across a decently wide powerband and huge gear.

You'd benefit tons from an actual tune and not that canned Intense PCM junk.

guy i know made 260whp with those same mods except with a 3.4 pulley.
after a custom tune he made 272 whp with a fueling issue. had to stop because they wanted to play it safe. it seemed like it had more power under there, and that was with a 3.4. id imagine youd be 280-295, depending on the car and how well it takes those mods.

on my 3.5 gen v s1x with 3.29 beginning of build i got ass raped by my buddys 05 sti from a dig...from a roll i would keep up with him but would be behind his rear door. Then i got 42.5s a 3.2 with a good ass tune and more timing from a dig i would get ass raped but slowly start to reel him in but by the time i would do something i was going to fast for my liking. But from a roll i would pull a car or so on him. My problem was hooking and his upside was having awd

If it was yellow was deff 02-03 2.0 wrx prob with the spoiler scoop swap...those 2.0 have 227hp stock but with some intake exhaust and tune it wakes them up alot...I believe with the tune and normal boltons Cobb claims 275chp out of those 2.0's...all my friends have Turbo Subaru's and they are all pretty quick...alot depends on the driver also...Great kill BTW!

you should be about at 275 chp with a 3.4 pulley and supporting mods.

Yeah in my opinion its alot easy to put down good whp numbers with our 3800 vs the subaru's hence why I bought a gtp and sold my slow NA subaru...GTP is heavier and is only FWD which deff works against us racing a awd subi
