• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

calling all smart people.... random engine cutting out

2002 GTX twincharged etc etc. engine has a random ign cut out issue. completely random. sometimes its within 3 min of starting and driving, sometimes takes an hour or more. it skips, cuts out, sputters. it will start to skip, if you give it wot, its flat, like nothing is there. if you ease the throttle in, it skips and pops. it often will clear up after doing its weird thing. but will happen again at another random time.

NEW ac delco crank position sensor, new plugs, new wires, new coils, swapped out ICM, swapped out ICM harness. its not heat related, as it happens whether engine is hot or cold. have the big 3 upgrade. im at a loss.

any input appreciated.

Why new CPS? And I agree, if not something vacuum related, then maybe an almost completely broken or melted wire in harness. But I'm assuming you've ran through some basics and ruled out Maf, vac, etc. My SE had similar issue, thought it was CPS but wound up being a melted wire in the harness... Intermittent stuff like that can be a PIA for sure. But hope you find the problem!

Problem is between the steering wheel and seat. :th_peaceout:

Have you ruled out the maf? If it's screwing up, that could cause fueling issues which could do most of what you describe. If you know which is missing spark or fuel, that might help narrow it down.
