cai or ram air for the GXP

it also depends on the car youre talking about. in an n/a application you'll benefit more from cooler air, but on a blower setup the air is already going to be heated by the blower so you might as well go for the maximum amount of flow possible.

either way, its all up to what you're comfortable with running.

well were talking about N/A CAI applications in the LS4 engine bays..I used my LT finding as what I have found.

and speaking of blowers..where are most of the cones set up...outside of the engine bay. As close to the ground.

LT1 also has the TB right in front of the engine, its like a 30* bend for a CAI whereas these cars are much more complicated.

not the way I see it LT1 has a 90deg bend right before entering the TB, this shot has the CAI that I did have. notice the big air collection area. Its there for a reason.:

GXP engine bay. Just wondering what I am missing? fenderwell in these cars is a no brainer for cool not that restricted air.

specter what color GXP is that? it is beautiful you can get the cold air from the hole in the bumper under the turn signal

isnt that LT1 intake stock?

Everything on that LT1 looks stock except for the CAI. there would be a box there. But as you can see its angled down to go into the fender.
Its pretty much the setup I had on my car.

ohh i have no idea. I just did a google searchfor a nice clear pic of a GXP engine bay...
and the cold air from under the bumper..yes thats what I am talking about. it is already doing that job I am almost 100% certain that the filter resides somewhere near that opening in the fender. Just not close enough to it. If you had something to direct of focus that air around the filter more benefit. those ducts were originally for brake duct coolers but did not get the go ahead..if someone got the design from GM..were talking possible RAM AIR to the cone.

Thats why I said in my first post about this..Anyone in MA want to try this out?:th_winking:

must not be enough f-bodies in Canada for you to hang out with... I'd feel that way if I had to live in my new town forever... only a few F-bodies here, and no LT1s.... I had an 85 Z28 in Denver, so I was in the f-body crowd, but that was 10 years ago when you could still go buy WS6 new :)

My buddy has an 85 iroc that I've helped him partially restore.

So thats about all I know about.

Its carb'd too, no ****ty 80's fuel injection lol.

hey i have a 05 gxp and i wanted to know if the k&n cold air for the 06 gxp will fit mine because they dont have one for 05
