My comment was intended specifically to describe CAI vs HAI setups on the 3800 S/C platform.

Maybe there is a benefit to using 8 feet of pipe to feed a little 1.6L some cooler air, but not for us. Most boosted and large displacement engines tend to prefer shorter, larger-diameter intakes. If the air coming in happens to be cool, great. Otherwise less flow restriction trumps cooler air from a long pipe.

A stock intake setup on a 3.0 pully setup WILL cause a loss of boost. It just cant move enough air.... Changed my buddies over to an open cone and suddenly he has another psi of boost....
