c6 impossible to beat with my mods?

about few months ago i raced a c6, not sure what year, but i know it's a c6 cause of the clear headlight covers. we were on a roll 35-45 mph i got lucky and beat him twice. my question is even though if the driver of the c6 happen to be a bad driver is it IMPOSSIBLE to beat him? from what i heard of the c6 is that they are very fast. btw my mods are xp, 3.29, pp heads, 3.1 mps headers, and other mods. the only reason i ask about this cause i post my killed list on the mc forum and i got flamed by some 3 stooges who only have few bolt on mods and none of them have a L67. they said i'm FULL of SH*T:th_laugh-lol2:. i'll post the link later. i'm waiting until it get up to 10 pages.:th_shakinghead1: they want to see my time slip and video which i don't have. i told them it's a street race, most of the killed are a one time encounter that i run into these car coming home from work or joy riding and i have no time to make any damn video.
 


the C6 does trap 120mph stock in the 1/4 mile. givin a bad driver and a 6 speed yes i think you can take him. me driving the vette i doubt it.
 
120 is a little high for the traps. 115-118. the zo6 is only traping 125 and they put a few cars on the regular c6.

what did yall get up too?? would a 35 roll drop first?? i can see you getting out on him and holding him off and then him starting to reel you in. thats not a question of if, just when. if he could drive the **** out of it tho, i see yall starting off even then at about 60 he starts pulling away.

its belivable to me. i beat alot of cars on the street just because there not driving there car like they should.
 
x2 anything can happen on the street.

both vehicle in ideal conditions at the track with pro drives, i would give it to the C6.

your on borrowed time either way, it will only get worse the faster you go.
 


I'd say your setup is good for mid-low 13's. C6's average mid-high 12's. From a 35 roll, he might have been in the wrong gear to race from, the weight of the vette and LSX make for a killer top end, trapping at 115-118mph in the 1/4 to our average 110 mph if both cars ran 12's.
 
I'd personally think you would take him from down low on the street. I ran a C6 Auto from a dig and up to about 80 or so. Still was nosing on it.

You have gears and heads on me so I'd say it would be a pretty good raping :D

Problem with 'Vette's is that they are WAY overrated. Throw some mods @ WS-6 or SS/Z28 and they become lunch meat ;)
 
how are vette's over rated?? they have the same or bigger motors then ws6's and camaros and are lighter?? the only thing is there hard to launch, IRS is a *****.

i pulled over between 80-90 mph. we both gunned at about the same time and i pull away from him each time on both run. like exactly how some of you guys said that anything can happen on street race, on the thread i post how i got kill by a blazer ss and my buddy's mach 1 they call it BS cause blazer ss is a suv and mach 1 have less hp than cobra. i was being honest on my killed, but i guess non of them know anything on the L67 so i let them do the talk.

What have you raced? details...
 
i beat a 6.0 gto in the 1/8th with just intake. a few mersadies and lexuses that should have walked me but i ran with them.

i haven't raced too many good cars.
 


I've beat countless hondas, one hatch on spray. On the jump he'd pull a car on me, but I'd reel him in and leave him. Had bad plugs at the time too, got a lil' sputter when I hit it. Couple stang GT's, a eclipse, my brothers 01 BMW 328i. I did get walked by a mini once. That thing was a monster. Nothing too major on races.

i don't usually race much any more cause i still have about 4 more years to pay off. i now enjoy just riding round and getting attention, it's already loud and i'm thinking of getting a cut out, lol. when the time come where as someone drive next to me and want to race and i think i have a chance to beat them then i'm not turning that down. i raced a charger srt8 last year on the expressway. after pulling away from the charger a mini van pulled right into my lane. going over 90ish mph i slammed on the brake and make a quick lane change to avoid hitting it. man, that would been ugly if i hit the van. i try to avoid any kind of drag race now.
 
yea i saw 2 6.0 gto's today just crusing beside each other. looked real good. they were just minding there own business tho so i dident start anything.

if there not up to race or start it i usally dont do much, like you i just enjoy driving my car around.

when i put my headers on the downpipe came off a couple of times and its LOUD!!!!! its just anoying loud. not really good sounding. something to think about with a cut out. BUT you have a cam so it might sound pretty good :D
 
You say you could tell it was C6 by the lights...ever think he changed the lights and you was really racing a C5? lol I seen a V6 Grand Prix with a GXP badge on it....didnt mean it was a GXP

The C5 and C6 are two totally different body styles. you can tell them apart by the lights. vettes are not over rated, the LS motor is the greatest thing out of GM in a long time now, as said anything can happen on the street. if you want come down to Tune Time and race a couple of the C6's we've put together :th_winking:
 


It all depends...were you racing a C6 LS2? or a C6 LS3? The average LS2 would trap around 113-115. Given your mods and seeing you are non-intercooled, I doubt that you trap over 112. Especially since you have 3.29 gears. Is it impossible? No- obviously not- you did beat him. Was the driver mod at play here? Yes, definitely. He probably started off in too high of a gear. That is in no way your fault and you made him pay. Good kill.
 
A C6 being an LS2 or even an LS3 is a pretty strong high trapping motor stock. Anything can happen on the street and I think this is the case here. I'm think the Vette driver was lousy honestly. Was it a 6spd or auto? That can make a difference too.

I believe you that you beat him, but I'm thinking the Vette driver wasn't worth a damn behind the wheel. He should of walked you mid to top end easily, LS motors are very strong in that range. Even my heavy LS2 4.11 Geared TBSS has killer mid range/top end power.

The Heads and the cam help you quite a bit and i'm sure you can keep up with a C6 vette as is with a decent driver. I'm figuring you could run High 12s in the right conditions as your car sits.
 
C6 LS2? The only 2 motors in the Corvette C6 were the LS3 (standard) and the LS7 (Z06) and the LS9 (ZR1). I didn't mean overrated power/speed wise. I meant that they are overrated because everyone talks them but being the best thing ever. Never cared much for Vette's since day one. That is just my opinion. Vette's are fast no doubt. But like I said its just my 2 cents worth. Don't listen to me if you don't care too.
 
On the street, anything is possible!!!

gearing, driver error, sudden lack of power, many things can happen.
