Hello, this is my first post here and I have been looking at doing the F-Body 2 piston caliper brake upgrade for the front brakes
on my 2001 Monte Carlo SS High Sport.
I think that I have the 12" rotors on my Monte but I'm not sure at the moment.

Do all Monte Carlos 2000+ have the 12" rotors?

I want the Corvette calipers on my Monte, from what I have read is it as simple as this:

Get Corvette C5 (97-2004) Front Calipers
Get Camaro / Firebird Caliper Brackets (98-02)
Tap brackets for the 14mm bolts from the Monte stock system
New pads

Do I need new rotors or will I be able to use the stock Monte rotors assuming they are the 12" rotor?
 


Thanks, I have searched through several of his posts and all of them seem to have broken photobucket links and there is no info that I can find in any of his posts nor in photobucket for his username there of rion02gtp with any shots of the Vette calipers.
Any other ideas?
 
00-05 mc/impala come with 12" rotor. yes you should be able to use your stock rotor

Do you know what year the calipers were for the red painted ones?
According to GMPartsDirect.com they have 3 different part numbers for the calipers for each side.

Am I right in thinking that the "hardtop" brakes would be for the Z06?
And the "Coupe / Convertible" would be the standard model Vette?
 
mine was off 2001 vette. i'm not sure the year the red one maybe someone would chime in, but i did almost got the red one too. i think the red one come from LS1 Z06 model or 2002-2004 c6. i paid $100 for front and back on craigslist. go to LS1tech dot com and register cause there's always someone upgrading their calipers and you might able to get them cheap. that's how i got my other camaro brakes dirt cheap.
