Buying seats



Gxp seats....good luck finding them if they do go for sale they get scooped up quick. Took me 3 years to finally find a good set also you'll probably be paying out the butt for them. That being said craigslist or ebay would be your best bet.

i've seen GXP seats go for $800-$1000
they are hard to come by, i picked mine up for a decent price, the fronts directly bolt in, however you SHOULD change the seat belt buckle to your OEM one from your seats as the 04+ buckles are known to release the 97-03 buckles and the rears you could just bent the bracket for the bottom cushion horizontal to fit this way you dont have to cut into the car, the bracket on the seat is actually pretty strong, and you can bend it back to where they originally were when you first bought them, i also made an adapter for the power seat to work, and then you could wire in a passenger's heated seat to a modified dual heated seat switch

i have pictures of the heated seat and the seats installed, but none of the wiring harness i made


also the GXP seats are alot better because in the summer, you dont burn your ass on the hot leather, and in the winter its not freezing cold, they warn up faster

the heated seats dont really listen to your switch though of high and low, low gets really hot and burns the ass and high, well we wont even go there lol, one way to fix this is to put some resistors on the seat (wiring should be on the underside of the seat for this) im sure the wiring gurus could fill you in on the rest search google for GXP seats install, there is a thread up on gtpworld.net and clubgp about this

you could definately get that done. but i'd assume at least $500 to get the fronts covered for quality work. if u do it yourself and know how to stitch and all that fun stuff, then just the cost of materials
 
GXP seats dont actually have suede, they are microfiber, it shouldn't cost as much as putting leather on cloth, suede or mircofiber would look better and could actually look like GXP seats more then the leather on cloth method would
 


yeah, it should be less to have the suede put in. or micro fiber what ever u choose. than recovering the entire seat for sure

if you get them recovered it wouldn't be "leather on cloth" unless you just wrap the leather around the cloth but that's not really the right way to do it.

Ditto took me 3 years as well but found a set on CL LIKE NEW he wanted $150 I got him down to $110.00 with no trouble
 
Hard to find but they are out there. Go to your google search bar and put GXP grand Prix seats OR put Grand Prix GXP parts and add craigslist to both of those in the search bar and you will find some. ALOT of people do not know how to ship them the right way so you might want to travel to pick them up. I had 3 sets that way.
 
all i can say is be patient and keep shopping, craigslist, jy and what, not till a set you like comes up. i waited a year looking for seats, then a set came up for 150 front and back in great shape. i also trolled for 6 or 7 months till i found a set wheels i could live with used as well.
 


And try typing different variations on ebay like gxp seats, grand prix gxp etc.. I found my set on there from a random variation and ended up snagging them up. Also moradpartscompany.com he had a set a few weeks back not sure if they sold yet or now.
