Hello, I was hoping someone could give me some advice with my burnt relay issue. I have a 2008 Grand Prix. I noticed my lights were on when they shouldn't of been on a couple of different times. This one time I noticed my fuse block was smouldering when I noticed the relays were toasted. Dissconnect the battery. Im hoping its just a faulty relay. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Might have a short somewhere inside the fuse box, hard to say exactly what did it but you'd have to take it apart and see what the damage is.
Who know's you might need a new fuse block and few relays.

last post i saw with a smoking fuse box the guy got a junk yard box and cut and soldered all the new wires to the old good harness.

I have seen a couple of places where the connectors in the box or on the wires were loose and caused the heat up.
Im also a little confused as to why the fuse didn't break the circuit before the relay smouldered to nothing. I just purchased another fuse box from the auto yard today. From a 2006, was told its good with 2008, they look the same. Looks brand new actually! Just hate to install and have this one fry like the last one, $100!

Probably because instead of the burnup being caused by excessive current, it was actually just caused by a bad connection. For example if a 20 amp circuit was pulling 15 amps, and a connection somewhere was just barley touching, that resistance causes heat while current stays the same, or often lowering the actual current.
