• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Burning oil, misfire #2

Well, once again I come back to the PCV system, as that's the only way I could see oil getting there. As you get more blowby at high RPM/high boost, the inlet of the PCV system works in reverse, and oil vapor gets blown into the throttle body. This is normal operation, but if you have that much, there could be something else wrong, although I can't think what it would be.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's the only thing I can think of :( If you're pulling the SC off, I would blow compressed air through each of the PCV passages and see if you can detect any problems.

The voice in my head sounds like a broken record too, so dont feel bad.

Im going to try that with the air and see what I can find out. If im still stumped Im going to block the pcv off right at the lim. Ill then leave the oil cap off and see how she does.

I will make sure to take pics and even a couple videos to help show her current state.

Edit- I just found a vacuum diagram, Ive searched several times but never found anything.

Anyhow its safe to say the Map sensor as it is right now has no line even going to it, in fact anything vacuum operated is not right at the moment. I had a feeling it wasnt perfect but if fact nothing is right.

This is the diagram that I am looking at incase anybody wants to look at it-

Now the triple vacuum tree on the top of the s/c shows 2 vacant spots. If I remember correctly there is a large on for the brake booster and the other small one is for the acc?

Well I got back today and spent a little time repairing all the vac lines so everything is in order as far as that goes.

Im going to have to tear down and fully inspect the pcv system, I know this for sure now. I sealed the intake port to the pcv as well as the throttle body and tried to turn it over. When cranking she still pulled vacuum on the crankcase! So I believe either one of the fresh gaskets failed or something is warped/cracked.

I was also shocked at how little pull the intake had when I put my hand over it. I could actually stall the motor just by placing my hand a couple inchs away.
