• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Buhbye GTX hello family car :)

Thats what im sayin lol.Is a grand prix not a family car especially with 4 doors?.But another vehicle is nice to have.

Well to be perfectly honest, I probably could have kept the car, but with it being so low the wife and her baby pouch bending that much to sit down in the car time and time again was not working for her. Also I wanted something safer for her and our child to be driven around in. I am NOT saying our GPs are not safe, but I wanted something that would be significantly more safe.

I hope that clears up that mystery for ya :)

what was wrong with the gp?

Well there were a few things wrong with it. Ever since I owned this GTX, it has caused me one headache or another over the past 3 years. My old GP GT I had for 5 years about NEVER caused me a problem. My GTX went through 3 sets of Half Shafts, 3 front hubs, a new transmission, and then lately there was this issue with something slipping in the engine and it would lose power.

Please dont get me wrong I loved my GTX, but I also at times hated the hell out of it cause of the problems I had endure with it. I know probably when the wife gets a job, I will get an 04+ GP, GTP or GXP probably for my car and the wife and kiddo will get the Pathy :)

Path-etic.

j/k James, looks like a nice ride.

Lub u2 Jay! :th_nanana:

Sorry to see you get rid of the prix but I completely understand where you are coming from on this since I have been there myself!

On a side note.... This does NOT excuse you from downing another 1/5th of yag next time we pass through :th_laugh-lol3:

still keeping the site up and running i hope :)

seeing as the admin no longer owns a W-body :th_nervous:

never driven a Pathfinder, but my friend loves his. have fun.

funny, my dad got rid of his Cordoba and ended up buying an 82 Trans Am just before I was born. :th_laugh-lol2:

My dad had his LeMans, then ordered a GTO, then ordered a Corvette the same year. I was born the next year, and he's still got all four of us (sold his GTO to his brother, though).:th_thumbsup-wink:

Mom had a '69 Judge around the same time frame and later got a Grand Prix (both 2-doors).

Nice upgrade to the Pathfinder. Looked good in person and plenty of room in the back for kids and stuff, family trips, etc... Gotta love 3rd row seats.

We did the same as you when finding out a little one was on the way, but instead of selling the GP, we just outright bought another car. Ended up with our 03 CV LX Sport. Loads of trunk room and looks different compared to most Vics. Was gonna get a Marauder but closest one that was worth it was in Las Vegas, lol... No dice.

You'll be happy to know that at least part of the GTX lives on, as I mounted the SLP spoiler this past Sunday onto my GPGT. Paint ended up being a PERFECT color match. Still gotta find time to install the rear sus. goodies. Makes the car look much better to me personally, even w/o the SLP or SD hood, which may come eventually. Can't get too crazy since this is my DD.

Good luck w/ the little one. They're kinda like a GP. Gets the "wallet delete" mod, leaks a bit here and there, and can whine but in the end they're worth it :th_thumbsup-wink:

I gotta admit, at least GM is trying to do a little better with machines like this. A week ago I rented a Chevy Traverse to drive to Florida and back. Was expecting a gutless wonder when to my amazement while having to get on it, it screamed and jumped up and ran, I mean the tach went over 7k ran! Later after looking it over, that thing had a direct injected 24 valve, DOHC V6 and *I think* is the same engine they're putting in the lower end Camaro's these days. Right on! :th_thumb-up:

Yeah the Pathfinder has a pretty sweet 4.0L V6 that produces about 266 or 275hp. I am not quoting exact numbers but I believe that was the range it was in that I last remember. On the highway it has some serious top end to it. If I am not watching, I will be easily hitting 80 and I can't even tell. When I use to hit 80 in GTX, I knew I was hitting that speed.

The Pathy drives and corners like a regular car, not some bulky SUV, like the SUVs of old :)

I am glad I made this choice, but I will always have Pontiac on the brain :)

Brought my daughter home in the GP, and did'nt upgrade to a more door until this year and she's 9 years old now.

I said once that I'd never have a "family car", but that's 99% of whats out there now. I will have to say that they do make some nice "performance" versions of most of them, but that comes at a price.....

Nice pick on the Nissan, nice looking ride, how long before you start the performance mods? :th_winking:

Already in the works :D

There are not to many "performance" mods for the Pathy's. They have a sweet CIA intake, some muffler/catback setups, and some type of manifold lifter to allow more into the engine. But past that I am not finding a great deal of them :)

But it is still to soon to tell.
