Bubbles in coolant???

I have the given engine. My Grand Prix has been acting weird. Getting hot and only once overheating. I noticed when I have it running the coolant in the reservoir bubbles. Even if it has been running long enough to get the air out of the cooling lines. The hoses are stiff (I imagine this is normal due to the pump). It isn't violent bubbles but they are rapid. When I first start the engine it is light then it gets worse when I drive it. I don't think it is the head gasket due to the fact I don't overheat and that I don't have smoke or steam coming out the exhaust.

Well I spoke with a mechanic friend of mine. He says its most likely the head gasket or the lower intake manifold gasket. There is no coolant in the oil or the other way around. A large amount of pressure builds up in the coolant system.d

Well turns out it was the head gasket blue devil to the rescue saved me from having to pull the heads. Tranny is what killed the gasket going to sell that car for cheap dont have the money to deal with it (not going to scam them). Thanks everyone.

Got a little frustrated and left the pedal down one day. If I leave it down It wont shift due to what I think it is a bad/weak torque converter. It was getting hard to get up to freeway speeds. Not a very smart choice on my part. I paid for it later on.
